Popular Bahamas Day Tour

Our English-speaking driver will pick you up at your hotel in Nassau at the appointed time and then escort you to the airport for the flight to Staniel Cay, the destination of our Bahamas day trip. The flight time is about 30 minutes. During the flying, the airplane will pass Exuma Cays and you can overlook it through the windows. It is located in the middle of Bahamas. With an area of 290 square kilometers (112 square miles), Exuma Cays is composed of more than 350 islands and reefs including the Great Exuma Island and Little Exuma Island. It is like a curved arc stretching to the southeast with a length of 145 kilometers (28 miles). After disembarking, you will meet the driver and be transferred to the port where the English-speaking captain is waiting for you.

After, you will enjoy a boat tour around the Staniel Cay under the guide of the captain. The first stop is the Pig Beach. Pig Beach is named so because of the several lovely and mild pigs inhabiting there. In the past, the sailors left 8 pigs on the island as the food supply for the future navigation. As they did not come back, the pigs have multiplied for several dozens. Protected by the nearby islands, Pig Beach is seldom struck by the storms or huge waves. So it is a very safe uninhabited island and the pigs are living happily there. When your boat approaches the island, the pigs will swim towards you and ask for food. Here, you will see the pigs sleeping or enjoying the sun bathing on the beach or swimming and playing in the water. You can also enjoy a swimming together with the pigs, feed them and take pictures with them. Though they are cute, paying attention to your safety is also necessary. Next, we are going to the Thunderball Grotto in the west where Jame Bond’s film Thunderball was shot. It is one of the best places for snorkeling in Bahamas. A large reef is located on the sea with a large hollow cave which is Thunderball Grotto. To enter it, we must snorkel through the narrow channel between the reef and the ground. So well acquired snorkeling skills are required. In sunny days, the sunlight beam shines through the dome to the water which lights up the colorful rocks and the corals under water. The natural environment is protected here, so you can see exotic marine life, colorful corals and various fish.

Afterwards, follow the captain to Bitter Guana Cay by boat which is surrounded by the crystal blue sea and soft white sand beach. Here, you will see the endangered Bahamas Rock Iguanas inhabiting in the stone seams. They are big but mild and their favorite food is flowers, fruits, sprouts and leaves. Then take the boat to Compass Cay where you can enjoy an amazing experience of swimming with the groups of gentle nurse sharks. Then take the boat to Exuma Cays Sand Bars via Sunken Plane Wreck and wander leisurely on the white beach. We will enjoy the lunch at Staniel Cay Yacht Club.

Then you will be transferred to the airport and return to Nassau. After arrival, the driver will escort you from the airport to the hotel. Your day trip from Bahamas draws to a happy end.
