Day 1: Arrive in Georgetown, Pick-up from the Airport
When you land at Cheddi Jagan International Airport, your driver will greet you at the exit and then transfer you to the central located hotel, Cara Lodge. This heritage house was firstly built in 1840, and is one of the oldest and grandest structures in Georgetown.

Accommodation: Cara Lodge (3 stars) or similar

Day 2: Visit Local Market, Sightseeing in Georgetown
Today you need to get up early in the morning. After having breakfast at the lodge, Chef Delven Adams will meet you at the hotel and escort you to Bourda Market to experience the local lifestyle and buy the ingredients, like fish, meat, fruit and vegetable for today’s lunch.

Then, you will be taken to tour Georgetown. Most of the buildings in the city are wooden architecture dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Under the company of your guide, you will visit some of the most famous ones like the residence of the Prime Minister, the Statehouse, one of the world’s tallest wooden buildings St. Georges Cathedral, as well as the largest and oldest market Stabroek Market.

Lunch will be a special treat at the backyard of Chef Delven’s home. He will prepare an amazing meal with the ingredients we bought in the morning and you could enjoy a relaxing time in the garden or take part in the cooking if you are interested.

After lunch, you will be guided to the National Park to hand-feed the West Indian Manatees and pay a visit to the Georgetown Botanical Gardens.

Day 3: Fly to Kaieteur, Appreciate the Kaieteur Falls, Fly to Surama
At around 11:00am, your driver will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to Eugene F. Correia International Airport (Ogle Airport), where you will take a chartered flight to Kaieteur. After one hour’s flying time, you will approach the majestic Kaieteur Falls, where you will see the waterfalls flowing over a table-top mountain into a deep gorge. It is 225 meters (741 feet) high, nearly five times the height of the world famous Niagara Falls. In 1930, around the falls built the Kaieteur National Park, where you will admire the rainforests and many rare birds and animals.

After the exciting tour to Kaieteur Falls, take the same aircraft to Surama village. On arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by a village councilor and settle down the lodge under his/her help. In the afternoon and evening, your guide will take you to appreciate the beauty of the village, observe the wildlife and experience the mystique of the forest after dark. Please remember to bring your flashlights to look for the creatures showing at night.

Day 4: Hike Through the Savannah and the Rainforest
Today, you need to get up before dawn and walk across the savannah, then climb up Surama Mountain for an incredible view across the village and savannah and stretching to the Pakaraima Mountains. If the weather is not suitable for climbing, your guide will offer alternative activities for you.

Afterwards, return to the lodge for lunch and then walk for about 4.8 kilometers (3 miles) through the savannah and the rainforest to the Burro Burro River. Your guide will then take you boating on the river to observe the Giant River Otters, Tapir, Tayra, Spider Monkeys and many other species. After finishing the visit, you will be escorted back to the lodge to appreciate the sunset scene.

Day 5: Fly to Georgetown, Airport See-off
Today, at the appointed time, you will be picked up from Surama Eco Lodge and then be transferred to the nearby airstrip to take the chartered flight from Surama to Eugene F. Correia International Airport (Ogle). Then you will be escorted to Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) to catch your departing flight. Your 5 days Guyana tour will come to an end here. Wish you a pleasure trip home.
