Tokyo Airport Trains

This is the most popular means of transportation from Narita Airport to downtown Tokyo. There are multiple choices of Tokyo airport trains to different destinations, operated by JR East and Keisei Electric Railway respectively. Narita Express (N’EX) of JR and Skyliner of Keisei are quite faster than other ordinary trains. Here are the alternative routes to go to some spots in the city of Tokyo.

Airport Bus to Tokyo City

Limousine is perhaps the best-known and typical buses at Narita Airport, even though there are also buses operated by other companies like Keisei Bus, Narita Kuko Kotsu and Chiba Kotsu. These buses go to different destinations in Tokyo city, like the traffic hubs, attractions, and hotels. At the counters of the bus operator, you can get the bus ticket, confirm the timetable, boarding bus stop and more information.

Limousine Bus

For Limousine bus, a bus departs from Narita Airport every 10-30 minutes. Overall, there are 3-6 buses going to Shinjuku and 2-3 buses to Ginza per hour. The bus fare of Limousine is about JPY 3,200 averagely to the most places around Tokyo city.

Low-cost bus (LCB) is usually cheaper, at an average fare of JPY 1,000 for a single trip, making it a cost-effective way to go from Narita Airport to Tokyo. Nevertheless, you can’t carry big baggage probably when getting on a LCB.

Tokyo Airport Taxi to/from Narita Airport

At Narita Airport, you can catch a taxi after queueing for it. Of course, if there is very few people, you can get a taxi extremely fast. At the taxi stand, you may decide to take the ordinary taxi charged by the distance you travel or the taxi at a fixed fare. The fixed-fare taxi goes through the expressway; if you want to travel via a route with no expressway, only the ordinary taxi can be selected.

Even without the additional late night surcharge and expressway toll, the basic taxi fare is also pretty expensive. Moreover, there is no guarantee to reach the destination in the scheduled time for traffic jams or dissatisfactory road condition. If there is a delay on the way, the fare would be increased as well.
