How to Plan Your South Korea Tour?

Best Time to Visit: March to May and September to November are best with mild weather.
Major Cities for International Flights: Seoul (capital), Busan, Jeju Island
Visa: Travelers from 112 countries can enjoy visa exemption for up to 30-180 days, but still need to apply for a K-ETA (electronic travel authorization) and receive approval 72 hours before departure.
Money Tips: The official currency is South Korean won (KRW). Credit cards and debit cards are acceptable by most shops, restaurants and scenic spots, but it will be more convenient to exchange some Korean won since you might have small purchases at some cash-only local markets.
  • 5-6 Days
The capital Seoul is no doubt the best and must-see place, providing rich tourist experiences, from the UNESCO-listed Gyeongbokgung Palace to Demilitarized Zone as an outpost overlooking North Korea, and from high-tech modern wonders to delicious street food.
  • 7-9 Days
Best for first-timers to see highlights of South Korea. Starting from Seoul, travel south to Gongju, Daejeon, Jeonju, and reach its famous resort Jeju Island. Finally, spend a day or two in Busan to unwind by the seaside and enjoy fresh seafood.
  • 10 Days or More
Suitable for an in-depth exploration. Go beyond major cities, historical sites, and stunning coastlines. Delve into lesser-known gems like Daegu, Andong, and Sokcho to uncover hidden natural beauty and traditional folk villages. If you have more time, consider extending your trip to Japan or China.

Trip Planning FAQs

When is the best time to visit South Korea?
South Korea has distinct 4 seasons, of which spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the best seasons for a South Korea trip. During spring and fall, the climate is neither too hot nor too cold, with pleasant weather and vivid landscape for enjoying the cherry blossoms or flaming foliage. However, after all, when to pay a visit is up to you. If you prefer to indulge in the coastal areas of Busan and Jeju Island, a hot summer vibe may be more appealing. And winter, from December to February, is superb for skiing and other activities if you are a winter sports lover.
How to get around in South Korea?
We provide private car transfer service for our guests to enjoy a hassle-free itinerary. If you are traveling independently, the public transportation of South Korea is rather reliable. You could grab a T-Money card at a convenience store or subway station for a convenient subway or bus ride in major cities. Buying train tickets is easy at stations for you to take a KTX high-speed train from Seoul to Busan or other major cities.
How to transfer from Incheon Airport to Seoul?
Here are three ways to transfer from the airport to downtown Seoul:
- Airport Railroad Express (AREX): Including the AREX Express Train and the AREX All Stop Train. The former runs non-stop to Seoul Station in about 45 minutes and costs 9,500 KRW (6.9 USD), and the latter takes 60 minutes and costs 4,150 KRW (3 USD).

- Airport Limousine Bus: Taking you to different areas of Seoul within one hour. The costs is around 9,000 to 18,000 KRW (6.5-13 USD), varying by buses.

- Taxi: The most convenient but expensive choice, which costs about 50,000 to 80,000 KRW (36-58 USD).
Is it safe to visit South Korea? Is North Korea a concern?
Yes. South Korea is very safe with a good social order and rare violent crimes. People are usually friendly to foreign visitors, especially in major cities and tourist areas. However, if you are going out to busy nightlife districts like Itaewon and Hongdae, it’s still recommended to pay attention to your safety and belongings.

Although the relations between North and South Korea have been tense for decades, it has little effect on the life of South Korean and tourists’ sightseeing, so there’s no need to worry. In our South Korea tour package to the demilitarized zone (DMZ), you could even have a chance to see the flags and soldiers of North Korea from the boundary.
Where to buy a SIM card?
Getting a SIM card is the best option for your South Korea tour, which allows you to easily access to internet without seeking free Wi-Fi on the way. For foreigners with passports, prepaid packages from SK Telecom, KT South Korea, or LG U can be bought at the airport, while the convenience stores in the city such as GS25, Emart24 and Daiso sell them at more reasonable prices.
Which app is helpful when travelling in South Korea?
K-ETA - Korea Electronic Travel Authorization, useful for travelers from visa-free countries.

Naver Map - Used for navigating, more efficient than Google Maps. By comparison, Google Maps is marginally useful in South Korea because of the lack of terrain data on foreign servers.

Papago Translate - More accurate than Google Translate when using for Korea language.

Coupang Eats - a food-delivery app for you to order a take-out and even convenience store goods.

There are some other apps are useful, such as Subway Korea for public transportation, Kakao T for taxi service, and Mango Plate for the locations of restaurants and cafes.
