For shoes, high ankle hiking footwear is reliable and more comfortable than others in the wild rainforest. Also, wear cotton socks to help absorb sweat. What’s more, while you’re out of the rainforests, wearing a short-sleeve T-shirt is also fine.

 Other essentials:

What to Do in Andasibe in September, 2025:

Recommendation Rate:

1. Look for Baby Lemurs in Andasibe Rainforests

Walking into any reserves or national parks in September in Andaisbe, you have a great chance to see mother lemurs with their babies jumping among the dense branches. New-born baby lemurs are covered with thin fluff and grasp their mothers tightly. They may look at you with their bright and big eyes. It’s OK to observe them from a distance. However, it can be dangerous to come too close to them because lemurs with new-born babies can be very protective and vigilant.

2. Visit Vakona Reserve

It owns the famous Lemur Island and Crocodile Valley. Visitors are allowed to get close to lemurs and feed them with fruit on the island. You can see the fiercest kind of crocodile, the Nile croc, living in Crocodile Valley. This is a totally different experience.

Vakona Forest Lodge owns 28 bungalows scattered in the central part of Andasibe rainforests. Rooms are all decorated with fine facilities. After rainforest exploration, stay one night in the room surrounded by dense rainforest can be a unique experience, too.

3. Go on a Night Safari in the Rainforests of Andasibe

At night, you will have chances to encounter some wild animals different from those in the daytime including chameleons, lemurs and frogs. In dry September with better road condition, it is much safer to do so than in the rainy season with muddy road. Remember to bring a head light with you and keep up with your guide.
