Rwanda Volcanoes Tour

Upon your arrival at the Kigali International Airport, you will meet our driver guide and be escorted to the hotel. A dinner will be served after check-in.

After breakfast, the driver guide will show you around Kigali city. Our first stop of this Rwanda private tours is the Genocide Memorial Center in Gisozi. It has 3 permanent exhibitions. The largest one records the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. After 2 hours' visit there, we will head to the Nyamirambo Women Center to study the local language, hair salon, traditional cooking classes, sisal basket weaving and different home decors. Also, you can get in touch with African-style fabrics and learn about the history, culture and daily life of indigenous people. In Nyamirambo, we will also tour the Inema Art Center, Kigali's most modern art gallery, to appreciate different and unique artworks such as paintings and sculptures. When the city tour is over, we will return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, we will drive to the northwest of Rwanda. The journey will take about 2.5 hours and we will finally arrive at the Volcano National Park and check in the hotel.

You will experience the most anticipated itinerary of your tour today. After breakfast at 06:40 in the hotel, our driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to Volcanoes headquarters in Kinigi with packed lunch. There, the park guide will introduce you the precautions and rules to obey during gorilla trekking, and assign you to different gorillas families. Then we will depart from the headquarters at 8 o'clock to the starting point of trekking adventure. When you enter the African mountain rainforest looking for mountain gorillas with the park guide, our driver-guide will wait for you at the starting point. The trekking will take approximately 2-6 hours, depending on the movement of gorillas. When you find the gorillas, you can take pictures and interact with them and spend an unforgettable 1 hour with them. After that, follow the park guide to return to the starting point and meet with the driver guide. Then, drive back to the hotel.

In the afternoon we will participate in cultural activities in Iby'Iwacu cultural village. You can interact with indigenous people, and enjoy traditional entertainment performances by local dancers.

Early in the morning, we will drive to the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park for registration and briefing. After that, trek the golden monkeys on foot in the lower bamboo forest area at the bottom of Volcanoes NP. The golden monkeys are always on the move, so you can only take pictures when they are still or at a clear spot. They jump from tree to tree, incredibly lively. You can follow and observe them for 1 hour. Afterwards, we will transfer to Lake Kivu and check in a hotel nearby.

After breakfast, we will have a sightseeing tour in Rubavu town for about 1 hour, like strolling along the beach of Lake Kivu and canoeing on the lake. In the end, our driver guide will transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight back home.
