Tourists can enter the UAE by air, sea and land. The UAE is well-connected by major airlines of the world, and the cities of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah have the major international airports. If you travel by cruise (sea), you can arrive into the UAE through the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal, the Dubai Port Mina Rashid, the Sharjah Port Khalid or the Ras Al Khaimah Port. It is also possible to drive into the UAE from the neighboring countries like Oman and Saudi Arabia with an international driving permit and other required documents.
How to apply for the UAE transit visa?
There are two types of transit visas in the UAE, one for 48 hours and the other for 96 hours. The 48 hours transit visa is free of charge while the 96 hours transit visa costs a fee of AED50. You need to apply for it online though a UAE-based airline like Etihad Airways or Emirates Airlines. Kindly note that the transit visa cannot be prolonged.
Where can I exchange money in the UAE?
You can exchange money in hotels, ATMs and any of the licensed money exchange centers at airports, shopping malls and public markets. Besides cash, credit cards, debit cards and traveler's checks (US Dollars and UK pounds are recommended) are widely accepted in the UAE.
