Aral Sea Adventure

Our driver in Tashkent will pick you at the hotel you booked in the city and transfer you to the airport for flight to Nukus. The flight takes 2 hours and 45 minutes. Our driver in Nukus will be waiting for you at the airport and then send you to Savitsky Karakalpakstan Art Museum. The Savitsky Karakalpakstan Art Museum is named after the Moscow artist Igor Vitalievich Savitsky and collects works of modern art from Russia and Uzbekistan from 1918 to 1935. We will arrange an English-speaking museum guide to show you the exhibits. Next, the driver will take you to the archaeological complex Mizdakhan in Karakalpakstan to visit. After, send you to the hotel in Nukus.

On the second day, our driver and the guide will take you to visit Usturt Plateau and Aral Sea, which is 400 km (250 mi) or 6 hours' drive away. We'll pass through the Kungrad district which used to be one of the trade centers on the Silk Road. Continue to Usturt Plateau and stop over at Lake Sudochie where you can see the fishermen's houses, old fish factories. Lunch will also be served here. Then we will drive to Aral Sea, stopover at the previous lighthouse and gas plant along the way, and take photos of the beautiful canyons. After arriving in the Aral Sea, set up tents and have dinner. Stay overnight in the tents.

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise. Our driver and the guide will then accompany you to Muynak, which was once the most prosperous fishing port in the Aral Sea and is now called the Cemetery of ships. Here we can see many fishing boats stranded in the desert. Driving through the dry Aral Sea along the way to Uchsai-Gas Plant, we will see many gas storage towers. After lunch, return to Nukus. Along the way we will visit Gyaur-Kala Fortress, literally "Pagan Castle", and now an ancient city ruin.

Today your driver will drive you for 200 km (124 mi) to Khiva, taking 4-5 hours. We'll pass through the ruin of Khorezm kingdom and visit the landmark building of Uzbekistan, Chilpyk, the oldest monument of Zoroastrianism. Then we'll visit Toprak-Kala, an outstanding monument of Khoresm in 1-5th centuries A.D. After the visit, transfer you to the hotel in Khiva for check-in.

To save you the budget, today we'll arrange a tour guide to take you to explore Ichan Kala on foot. Ichan Kala is the inner city of Khvia and is considered as the open-air museum. Today's highlights are Kunya Ark, Pahlavan Mahmud's mausoleum, Juma mosque with 218 pillars and Harem Tash Hauli. Have lunch at a local family at noon. At about 17:00, the city tour ends. After dinner, our driver will transfer you to Urgench Airport to take a flight to Tashkent, taking 1.5 hours. Our driver in Tashkent will pick you up at the airport and take you to the hotel you ordered in the city. Your Uzbekistan private tours come to an end.
