Travelling to Jaipur
Shatabdi express is a popular air-conditioned train that is very comfortable and connects Jaipur to important Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Jammu, Kolkata, Pathankot, Bhopal, Patna, Lucknow, Chennai, Bangalore, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, and Goa.Some of the popular connecting trains to and from Jaipur are the Jaipur Express, Pune Jaipur Express, Ajmer Shatabdi and Adi SJ Rajdhani.
Train Booking System and Fare
There are AC and Non-AC Sleeper coaches available, also with a general compartment which is the cheapest. The tickets for sleeper coaches need to be booked in advance as getting seats on the spot is not always possible. Tickets can be booked online or from a railway station in any part of India. Through the Tatkal booking facility provided by the Indian Railways, tickets can be booked 24 hours before the departure of the train.There is no reservation for the general compartment category, also sleeping in the general compartment is not allowed, hence it is advised to book tickets in advance to get tickets for sleeper coaches. Travelers without tickets are shifted to the general compartment and also attract a penalty. The average fare of a train ticket from Delhi or Agra to Jaipur would cost around INR200 to INR600. Whereas the fare from far away cities like Bangalore and Mysore would be around INR800 to INR1500. The fare may increase depending on the class of the compartment booked.

2. Carrying food while travelling by train is optional, and not a necessity. There are several vendors who go to every compartment selling snacks, tea, veg, and non-veg (chicken, mutton, and eggs only) foods, etc. Food vendors are also available at the stops.
3. Do not travel without tickets in trains, as it is a punishable offence. The fine for travelling without a ticket can extend up to INR 500.
4. Do not carry any valuable items while travelling by train. Indian Railways issues a guideline along with the ticket stating that the management is in no way responsible for any kind of theft.
5. It is recommended not to keep your mobile phone or wallet at the window and also avoid using the phone while standing near the door of the train.
6. Do keep a check beforehand about any holidays or festivals in India as the trains are crowded during these times.
