Hakodate Port Festival
As the largest summer celebration in the city, Hakodate Port Festival lasts from August 1 to 5. In the evening of the first day, the largest firework display along with music in Hokkaido marks the beginning of the festival, followed by lively parades on 2nd and 3rd when you can see the Japanese portable shrine, traditional “Hakodate Port Dance” and “Squid Dance”.
