Trip Planning FAQs

What are the best months to visit Myanmar?
October to March, also the cool season, are the best months to plan your Burma vacation packages. During this period, the country features moderate average temperatures of 20 to 28°C (68 to 82.4°F) and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor explorations. This is also the peak season, so it’s better to make your reservation in advance.

The hot season from April to June and the rainy season between July and September are off-seasons. The average temperature in the hot season can exceed 35℃ (95°F), so bring sunglasses and sunscreen, and prepare rain gear for frequent downpours in the rainy season. However, during the low season, the prices of flights and hotels are lower, and it's perfect for crowd-free sightseeing. The Thingyan Water Festival in April and the Taungbyone Nat Festival in August or September are also great times to experience the vibrant local culture.
How to get to and travel around Myanmar?
Yangon International Airport and Mandalay International Airport make it possible for European and American visitors to enter Myanmar after transferring in hubs like Singapore and Bangkok of Thailand.

Furthermore, domestic flights in Yangon, Mandalay, Bagan, and Heho provide the quickest intercity connections, taking around 30 minutes to 1 hour. Night buses are another option for transit between cities, saving time for daytime sightseeing, and cost around USD 10-25 depending on the distances and seating classes. As for Myanmar trains, they are not recommended due to the slow speed, plus foreigners are not allowed to ride most long-distance trains.

Referring to traveling around cities, use the local taxi-hailing app Grab or catch a tuk-tuk rickshaw from the roadside. Some scenic spots, such as Bagan and Mingun, provide traditional horse-cart rides. Overall, Myanmar's public transportation system is rather backward, but our private air-conditioned vehicles with professional drivers will make your travel more relaxing and worry-free!
Is it safe to travel to Myanmar?
Generally, the popular tourist attractions in Bagan, Mandalay, Inle Lake, and Yangon are safe to visit since they are far away from political upheaval. However, please avoid some high-risk areas like eastern border districts, Rakhine State, and northern Shan State.

As Buddhism is the predominant religion, Myanmar is characterized by its hospitable locals, offering a welcoming vibe. However, please be aware that you should avoid hanging out alone after dark and keep your personal stuff secure in busy public places. Our escorted Myanmar tours will lower the risk and provide you with a safe and hassle-free experience!
What are the etiquette rules in Myanmar?
It’s customary to remove your shoes and socks and to dress in clothing that covers your knees and shoulders when you visit Buddhist temples and pagodas.

Monks are highly respected in Myanmar, so please avoid physical contact with them and offer items with both hands.

The head is considered the most noble part of the body, while the feet are the dirtiest; therefore, touching someone's head, even a child’s, and pointing at people or Buddha statues with the feet is frowned upon as being impolite.
Do I need to worry about power outage issues?
Yes, unstable power supply is common throughout Myanmar, even in major cities like Yangon and Mandalay, and power outages usually follow a set timetable, but you don't need to worry too much because most hotels and restaurants are equipped with generators. You can pack large-capacity power banks and a portable flashlight. In addition, as the instability of power supply can lead to intermittent and poor network access, it’s advisable to download offline translation and map apps in advance in case of an emergency.
