How much should I tip for service received?
Tipping is not compulsory in South Africa but it is customary to tip for good service. As a general rule, 10% to 15% of the total bill is proper to tip the waiter or waitress in restaurants and bars. For private guided tours, USD10-USD15 per person per day to the guide is normal.
Is the water safe to drink in South Africa?
In most cities, towns and wildlife reserves, the tap water has been purified, and drinking directly is safe. However, drinking tap water is not recommended in rural areas.
Do I need a travel adapter?
