Day 1: Welcome to Barcelona, Spain!
Welcome to explore the iconic cities in Spain with us! The first destination is Barcelona, the second-largest city in Spain. We have booked a comfortable hotel for you in the city center. Upon arrival, you need to go to the hotel to check in by yourself. After that, you can take a rest at the hotel or explore the magic city on your own. ► Go to the Hotel by Yourself The well-selected hotel is just located pretty close to famous attractions like Casa Mila. About 14km (8.7 mi) from Barcelona-El Prat Airport, it is very convenient to get by R2N Train with an interval of 0.5 hours. Riding the train from T2 to Passeig de Gràcia Station only takes about 30 minutes and costs €4.6, from where about 1 km to the hotel and easy to reach by taxi. Another way is to hail a car or taxi from the airport to the hotel directly, which costs about €20-25 by ride-hailing Apps. In Spain, Bolt, FREE NOW, Uber, and Cabify are frequently used but Uber hasn’t really taken off in Barcelona. So Cabify and Bolt are more recommended in this city.
★ Choose Us to Save More! Most Spanish cities, like Barcelona, boast an extensive and affordable public transportation network by which most attractions are well connected. Using public transport is efficient and eco-friendly. It also saves you money without affecting your travel experience, and that’s what we’ve been striving for our customers. ► Activities Recommendation: If you arrive in the city early, it is recommended to catch an incomparable sunset at Tibidabo, one of the most majestic sunset spots in the city. Take the S2 Train from Provença Station (about 200m from the hotel) to Peu del Funicular, where you can take a cable car from the second floor to the mountaintop. After that, take Bus Line 111 to Basílica del Sagrado Corazón Tibidabo. At the top of the church, you can not only enjoy the once-a-lifetime sunset but also have a panoramic view of the whole city. Titbit: Why is Dinner so Late in Spain? You may find that dinner time in Spain is mostly around 21:00-23:00, much later than that in most other countries. Partly thanks to the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle, but the real reason is Spaniards have been stuck in the wrong time zone for more than 70 years. In fact, Spain has the similar longitude as that of the UK and Morocco and thus they should be in the same time zone. However, fascist dictator Franco adjusted Spain's time to keep pace with Nazi Germany in World War II. Since then, though people eat at the same time as before, the clocks in fact become late.
