3. Epiphany
On every January 6, the local Epiphany is celebrated, which is one of the most important religious celebrations of the year in Cyprus. It is an important festival to celebrate the baptism of Christ, and on this day, thousands of people gather in the harbor to perform the ritual baptism of the Holy Cross. The most interesting and spectacular activity is that people dive into the sea to retrieve the Holy Cross thrown by the archbishop.
