1. Kushida Shrine

Built in 757, it’s one of the oldest shrines in Fukuoka. During your visit, you can experience religious culture and learn about the unique Japanese architecture. It is said that if you go through the mouth of the mask, you will be healthy.

2. Tenjin Underground Shopping Center

On some cold or rainy days in February, Tenjin Underground Shopping Center can be a good place to go. The shopping center is in a 19th-century European style, with arabesque ceilings and stained glass. With a total length of 590 meters (1,930 feet), it has about 150 shops providing a wide variety of products and services. When you’re tired, you can also find a restaurant to take a short break and savor the local cuisine.


3. Miyajidake Shrine 

Miyajidake Shrine is an ancient shrine with a history of 1,700 years. Its most spectacular attraction is the pathway in front of the shrine that stretches to the sea. Only in February and October every year, the sunset passes through the pathway, creating the golden “Path of Light”. A reference for your visit in 2025: the best time to see this scenery is about 30 minutes before and after sunset, and the sunset time in February is around 17:48 to 18:14. Apart from that, you can also see the largest Shimenawa, a sacred rope; Taiko; and copper bell of Japan.
