Day 1: Kuala Lumpur Airport Pick-up; Drive to Malacca
Malacca River Cruise
Welcome to Malaysia, an Asian melting pot where you can simultaneously embrace Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures and cuisines. Upon your arrival, your driver guide will pick you up from the airport and then drive you to Malacca for about 2 hours. Living in such a small but charming city tonight, you can roam in the neighborhood after recovering from jet lag.

► Best Place to Enjoy Nightlife in Malacca
Take a 20-minute taxi ride to the bustling Jonker Street Night Market, which is open from 6:00 p.m. to 0:00 a.m. daily between Friday and Sunday. In the melee of tourists and local snack-seekers, street-food stalls and restaurants run by Chinese, Malaysians, and Indians on both sides are doing a roaring trade. It’s highly recommended to try the snack Otak Otak – fish wrapped in bamboo leaves with a lemongrass scent, slightly spicy and delicious.

► Money Tips in Malaysia
The common currency in Malaysia is the Malaysian Ringgit, and the exchange rate of USD to RM is about 1: 4.4. Since the exchange rate at the airport ATMs is not cost-effective, it’s better to choose a qualified currency exchange downtown. You can also consult your driver guide for money exchangers to get the most bang for your buck. For the sake of financial security, we suggest you do not exchange online or with strangers to avoid scams. Due to the lower price level in Malaysia than that in the US, and a meal usually costs around $10 per person, you don’t need to exchange too much cash at one time.
