Day 1: Arrival in Lima, Half-day Lima Tour
Welcome to Lima to start your 7 days Peru vacation! Our English-speaking guide will wait for you and hold a board with your name on it at the airport. Then our tour guide and the driver will send you to the hotel first. After checking in, we will go to visit some historic buildings in the city: San Martin Plaza, Plaza de Armas, Monastery of San Francisco. Lima is divided into the old city and the new city. During the colonial period, Plaza de Armas was the economic and cultural center of Lima. Over the centuries, it has been the site of many religious celebrations, locals' gatherings and bullfights. At the center of San Martin Plaza is a monument to Peruvian liberator Jose De San Martin, who fought in the South American War of Independence. The architecture of San Martin Plaza is with European style, including the fine St. Martin's Palace and the Bolivar Palace. Now it has become as much a place for Peruvians to meet and relax as Plaza de Armas. Finally, we will go to the Larco Museum to appreciate exquisite pottery and gold and silver handicrafts.
