China Essence with Yangtze Cruise

Dear friends, welcome to China to join this fascinating 16 days Yangtze River tour package. Upon your arrival at the Beijing Airport, your private guide will be expecting you beyond the customs area. After a warm greeting, the driver will escort you to the hotel for a good rest.

After breakfast, we will first come to visit the Tiananmen Square, the city center of Beijing and a place recording many significant events. Then we will come to the magnificent Forbidden City. The architectural complex inside is still well-preserved.

Around noon, an a la carte welcome lunch will wait for you to enjoy at a local noted restaurant. Afterwards, we will proceed to visit the Temple of Heaven, the place where ancient emperors used to pray for the good harvest years from the god of the heaven.

The Great Wall is one of the symbols of Beijing. Today, we will follow our private guide to explore the splendid and unique landscape of the Mutianyu Great Wall, the essence of the Great Wall. Lunch is not included today, so it’s highly recommended that you bring some food with you. Taking a round-trip cable car to appreciate the beauty of the wall will make this journey more memorable and enjoyable. Apart from cable car services, we will also provide you with some red wine on the Wall for a toast. On the way back to the hotel, there will be a short stay in front of the Olympic Bird’s Nest. So you are free to take some pictures of this specially designed building.

Before heading to Xian, our next destination, we will spend some time to visit the Summer Palace. It is the biggest ancient royal garden with various representative scenic spots inside. After the visit, an exciting hutong tour by rickshaw is waiting for us to experience. Then you will be escorted to Beijing West Railway Station to take a 4.5-hour high speed train to Xi’an. Once you arrive, our local guide in Xi’an will greet you and transfer you to the hotel for a good rest.

Today we will visit the eighth wonder of the world - Terracotta Army. Walking into the museum, we will marvel at the vivid life-size clay soldiers with different facial features and gestures, which was made to protect the mausoleum of the Emperor Qinshihuang (259BC-210BC) according to the historical records. Then we will go to visit the famous Shaanxi History Museum, where we have access to learn Chinese splendid culture and history through these relics in display. Today’s last stop will be the Xi’an City Wall, one of the landmarks of ancient capital Xi’an.

After breakfast, we will first visit Xi’an Museum and Small Wild Goose Pagoda to feel the unique cultural and religious atmosphere. Afterwards, we will follow our guide to visit a local family and have an authentic lunch there. Then we will continue our Xi’an trip to visit the Great Mosque where you can take a leisurely walk and appreciate the special architectures. Before escorting you to the airport for the flight to Guilin, we will leave some free time for you to taste some delicious local snacks at the Muslim Bazaar.

Early this morning, we will take a 4-hour cruise ship from Li River to Yangshuo. Standing on the deck of the ship, we can enjoy the cool and gentle wind and the fantastic sceneries along the Li River. When arriving at Yangshuo, you will be escorted directly to the countryside to appreciate the beautiful rural scenery. After that, the guide will send you back to the hotel in Guilin for a good rest.

After breakfast, we will follow the guide to explore the three most representative scenic spots in Guilin. First we will pay a visit to the Reed Flute Cave, which is reputed as the “Art Palace of Nature”. Under the colorful lights, the various stalactites appear to be a fairyland. Then devote some time at the Seven Stars Park to take a leisure walk. Finally we come to the Elephant Trunk Hill to appreciate the nature wonder.

This morning, the guide will take you to board the airplane to your next destination, Chengdu. Upon your arrival, our local guide in Chengdu will greet you and then transfer you to the hotel.

This morning after breakfast, we will follow our private guide to visit the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to view the cute pandas and its living environment. After lunch, we will proceed to visit the Jinsha Site Museum to admire the precious relics like golds, coppers, jades, stones etc. That will help you know more about the culture of this place. The last stop we are going to explore is the Broad and Narrow Alleys, which includes totally three main streets parallel to each other. When wandering on the street to admire these beautiful buildings, you can also taste some snacks, or sit at the table ordering a cup of tea, which is at your own expense.

Today’s morning time will be left to you for your own arrangement. If you want more exploration to this city, feel free to ask suggestions from our zealous guide. Afterwards, you will be escorted to the train station for a 2 hour bullet train to Chongqing. When you arrive at Chongqing railway station, the local guide will greet you and transfer you directly to board the Yangtze River cruise ship, which will set sail around 21:30.

After breakfast, there will be a brief introduction to the cruise itinerary. After that, you can choose a good position on the deck to view the steep, high cliffs. We will disembark and have a shore excursion from 08:00 – 11:00, you will visit Ghost City of Fengdu if you take New Century Cruise or visit Fengdu ShuangGui Mt. if you take Victoria Cruises.

Today we will continue to Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge successively. We will be impressed by these wonders crafted by the Nature. There will be an excellent opportunity to take some pictures should you wish. Later you will disembark and board a little ship for an excursion to Shennong Stream or Shennv Stream.

After breakfast, we disembark and head for the Three Gorges Dam to view China’s grand hydroelectricity project. Afterwards, the cruise ship company will send you to the Three Gorges Tourist Center in Yichang city. You will be met there by our local guide who will accompany you to the railway station to board a 7.5-hour bullet train to Shanghai. When you arrive, our local guide in Shanghai will meet you and then transfer you to the hotel.

First of all, today you will visit the Shanghai Museum to view the precious relics on display. After that, we will follow the guide to Yuyuan Garden to appreciate the ancient classical buildings as well as the picturesque scenery. At noon, an a la carte lunch will be served at a local restaurant with most authentic Shanghai cuisines. Then, we will arrange a Huangpu River cruise for you to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river. After disembarking, we will leave you some free time to wander at the Bund where you can see a variety of western style buildings. Then our guide will show you around a cultural street before returning back to the hotel.
