Daytime: Girls can wear summer dresses plus thin knitwear or blouses; or simply long-sleeve dresses. Boys can wear long-sleeve T-shirts, blouses, or shirts together with light pants. If you tend to feel hot, you could even wear T-shirts or short shirts.
Night: Because of the large temperature difference, you need to change into thicker clothes at night, hoodies, thin jackets plus jeans or sweatpants for example.

1. Go Hiking in Miyajima Island
Miyajima is well-known for Itsukushima Shrine and the Otorii gate on the sea, which you should never miss if you travel to Hiroshima. But apart from those, Misen of Miyajima is a great place for autumn hiking.
Mount Misen, 535 meters (1,755 feet) above sea level, is listed as a World Heritage Site. The entire mountain is covered by forest and well protected, attributing to the beautiful natural scenery. There are three hiking trails in Misen all of which take about 2 hours to complete. Once you reach the summit, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Seto Inland Sea and the Shikoku Mountains from the observation deck.

2. Enjoying Autumn Scenery in Taishaku Gorge
Stretching for 18 kilometers (11 miles), the Taishaku Gorge is one of Hiroshima’s best natural sites. From late October to early November every year, you can see beautiful autumn leaves here. It also has many other attractions to enjoy. For example, Onbashi Bridge, one of the three famous natural bridges in the world, is the largest natural bridge in Japan with a total length of 90 meters (295 feet), a width of 19 meters (62 feet), and a height of 40 meters (131 feet). There is also the Bridge Shinryu-ko, a red artificial bridge that is perfect for taking pictures; Lake Shinryu-ko, where you can take a boat tour and experience kayaking; and Hakuundo Cave, where you can see magical stalactites. If you don’t want to walk, you can rent a bicycle or take a horse-drawn carriage from the parking lot to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
3. Viewing both Human and Natural Landscapes in Hiroshima Castle
Hiroshima Castle, designated as a National Historic Site and one of the landmarks in Hiroshima should always on one’s travel list. In the Castle, you can visit Main Keep to learn the history of samurai culture and see exhibitions of the history and historical relics related to Hiroshima Castle. In addition, you can stroll around the castle’s moat and gardens and enjoy its tranquil beauty.
