What to Wear and Pack

Tanzania February Clothes

Clothes and Shoes:
Since February is one of the hottest months in Tanzania, you can take as many short-sleeved or disposable tank tops as possible. In addition, thin and breathable clothes such as shirts and cotton pants, as well as sun-protective clothing are also essential. The nights can be cooler, so it’s advisable for you to bring a thin coat or a windbreaker. For safari, lightweight casual shoes such as a pair of walking shoes and sneakers are proper. And a pair of comfortable slippers may ease your tiredness when you sit long on an off-road vehicle tracing wildlife.

Accessories:
When you go on safari, take more wet tissues in case of the heavy dust. Although there’s not that much rainfall and it usually rains at night, rain gear should be taken, just in case. For sunny day trips, take sunscreen, face masks, a thin hat and sunglasses to protect you from the strong sunlight. What’s more, don’t forget to take some cold medicine and insect repellent.

Tips: Sandals and shorts are not recommended for safari in the south, for the Solenopsis invictas there are aggressive. And colorful clothing should be avoided when going on wilderness expeditions so as not to irritate animals.

Tourism Rate:

1. Ndutu

If you are planning a trip to Africa in February, 2025, add an immersive safari in Ndutu, where you will be surrounded by thousands of wildebeest and zebras, into your list. Ndutu is located in the southern part of Serengeti, at the junction with the Ngorongoro Reserve Area. The probability of seeing lions and cheetahs is quite high here. In addition, starting in early February, around 400,000 wildebeest migrate here to give birth. Watching wildebeest calving requires a bit of luck, and it’s best to choose a night slot. A night game drive also allows you to see animals you can’t see during the day, such as night monkeys and owls, while most animals are usually active in the morning and afternoon. And noon is a good time for bird-watching at the lake here and an evening sunset can also be a delight.

Moreover, with dense vegetation and the diverse animal species, wildlife such as elephants, gazelles, buffalo and baboons can be seen almost all year round. Taking a walking safari here to see hippos bathing, buffalo drinking and elephant’s footprints can be life-long memories.
