What to Wear and Pack
|
Shoes: Light and comfortable sports shoes are fine. You’ll be in the off-drive vehicle for a long time during the safari, so take a pair of slippers. When you go to the island, you can wear beach sandals or flip-flops.
Accessories: It will be very dusty during safari, so it’s better to bring wipes, breathable disposable masks and wind goggles. The sun is strong during the daytime, so a hat with a string and sunglasses must be taken. As most animals are far away from the vehicle, be sure to bring binoculars.

Getting to Serengeti National Park
|
1. Northern and Central Serengeti
In July, millions of wild animals have reached the Mara River in the northern Serengeti. The famous “Mara River Crossing” takes place here during this time. Moreover, the “Grumiti River Crossing” is on show in the central Serengeti. This is the very month you have chances to see both crossings. In addition to these breathtaking river crossings, lions’ perching in the bush, cheetahs’ hunting and elephants’ walking slowly near you are all the highlights of the Serengeti in July.
In order to admire both river crossings and predators’ hunting, you’d better find an experienced guide and get to the best spots ahead of time with binoculars.
