Tips for Visiting Ulaanbaatar in September

1. Since September 15, majority of attractions get closed at 17:00, 3 hours earlier than before since they start to follow the winter time schedule. Further check the opening time and arrange your visit plan accordingly to ensure enough visit time at these scenic spots.
2. The grassland and forest turn almost totally yellow and golden with only a hint of green in late September. If you prefer the autumn view mingled with yellow and green, visit Ulaanbaatar during the first half of the month.
3. The heating system starts to work on September 15. At the initial stage the indoor temperature might be not high enough and you still need to wear thick clothes indoors. By late September when the heating system works more efficiently while the outdoor temperature keeps dropping, which means indoor-outdoor temperature difference is so significant, you had better wear relatively thin inner layer and thicker outer coats and adjust the clothing timely in case of catching a cold.
